HOLY COW FOR TRAPPED IN ICE VILHJALMUR STAFANSSON IS REAL! HOLY COW! HE'S REAL! No wonder why I thought the name was really original! It was a real name!

RE: HOLY COW FOR TRAPPED IN ICE VILH...
Aren't a lot a things original? People don't make up the names Josh or Bob. They just copy from some other people or books. And Mrs. Jacobs already discussed she thought he was from Norway/Sweden/Denmark.

Subject: Explorers - Jaques Cartier
In grade 4, I read a book about Canadian Explorers. Every time someone mentions 'Jaques Cartier' I know who they're talking about 'presto'. He's the guy who named Canada 'Canada'. That sounds funny. Hehe.

Subject: Viking Letter
It'd be cool if we could design a viking boat. I mean, design the piece of paper. Oh, designing a viking boat would be cool too. For the paper, maybe we can uh... Cut the edges a bit to make them look scrollish. And dye them yellow. Maybe we can use Papyrus! I'm just kidding.

Subject: Trapped in Ice - Villhjamur Stefansson
Maybe he's not from Norway/Sweden/Denmark. I researched him on the enchanted learning website and yeah, the book is based on his 1913 Canadian Expedition. It also says Bob Bartlett was the Captain, and the Ship was the Karluk (a sealing ship). They were stuck in Alaska in August, and in September he went with a small group to hunt for food. He never returned to the ship because it drifted away. It also says the group explored Northern Canada and came back in 1918. Pretty interesting, if you ask me. He also lived with the Inuit for many years.
